Jason Minter

Design Associate

Jason Minter is a Design Associate and Enterprise Rose Architectural Fellow with buildingcommunityWORKSHOP. In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, Jason is addressing disaster recovery and pre-covery planning within Houston and the Gulf Coast’s most vulnerable communities. To do so he will connect residents, community development corporations, public officials, and organizers through convenings centered on RAPIDO—a comprehensive program that addresses disaster recovery at every scale.

Jason is a community development professional who was originally trained in architectural design. He has worked in design firms based in Texas, Northern Africa, and Mexico. Most recently Jason has served as a Real Estate Development Specialist with Burten, Bell, Carr Development, Inc., a non-profit community development corporation in Cleveland, OH. There Jason worked on comprehensive neighborhood planning, affordable housing developments, multimodal streetscape design, green infrastructure, and specialized in equitable economic development.

Jason earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and a Master of Architecture from Texas A&M University.  He has also taken course work in Public Interest Design at University of Texas - Austin and is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional.
