Dreambuild north texasDallas is underperforming in the delivery of affordable housing, with research showing the city is some 30,000 units short and losing Black homeownership at an alarming rate. In an effort to address these challenges, [bc] is bringing the DreamBuild model to Dallas. By partnering with area CDCs and faith-based institutions, we are looking to operationalize legacy landholdings to open up affordable homeownership opportunities across West and southern Dallas using the DreamBuild delivery system.

Dreambuild south texas (RGV)DreamBuild is a “grow home” model, where modular homes start at around 600 square feet with one bedroom and one bathroom. Then families can add extra rooms — bathrooms, bedrooms, offices — to the homes, around 300 square feet at a time. Paint, fixtures, porches and more are all customizable, in order to meet the needs of the homeowners. In the RGV, the homes are built at what we call “The Farm”. Once finished, they are transported and placed on the client’s plot of land, where they can begin creating memories in their very own home. In 2024, 16 homes were delivered for RGV families.
