[bc] and Dolphin Heights residents co-designed this 400 square foot garden cottage and went through a selection process for a gardener-in-residence to live in the cottage and work in the garden in exchange for greatly reduced rent. Under this model, we have seen members of the Dolphin Heights Neighborhood Association step into new roles of responsibility around management of association finances. Additionally, monthly volunteer attendance is up, garden production and food donations are increasing, and the DHNA President is better able to focus on broader community goals.
